omg yeah no so the thing abt comics is original pages can sell for a LOT of money esp if you have a reputation for being good at drawing the way this cartoonist does which is why everyone's first reaction to this information is "WHY would you do that" even now there's a publisher that puts out "artist editions" of very high-res reproductions of original pages from the 20th century where you can see all the editorial marks and white out and the marker lines and they're very expensive but so fascinating to see how the human artist made their art I love making physical comic books I mean ok I don't always love assembling them but it's insanely satisfying to have a little book of your little pictures. and then sell it to strangers for money at a convention lol I'm currently debating whether I want to do my travelogue comics next week in color (prettier) or black and white (cheaper to print and aesthetically consistent with the last travel comics I made)
